broncolor varipuls is exactly what they say it is. You will never regret it; broncolor varipuls is really amazing.

When would one want to use the Manual Flash mode in modern flash units that have TTL?
Would one use this mode with one on camera flash only and no other lighting, broncolor varipuls or is this used when one wants to use their on camera flash to add fill flash (fractional power settings, i.e. 1/2, 1/64 power, etc) along with studio strobes (i.e. Elinchrom, Broncolor, etc). What is step by step process to arrive at my settings on the camera and on the flash? My camera is Canon 30D with 580EX flash.
